WHAT'S HAPPENING

ANDY FRIEDMAN (pictured right) is living proof that an artist can be found just about anywhere. The 29-year-old Brooklyn artist appears in clubs and bars across the nation, coaxing profound beauty out of nothing but a slide projector, some pencil drawings and photographs -- and his own imagination. Friedman's poetic monologue accompanies the slide show, which he presents in bars and clubs nationwide. The cool, quirky performance has earned him praise from all corners of the country and the art world, from The New Yorker to Nashville Scene.
