Andy Friedman intrigues
even the most blasé art and music critics by fusing the two media. The
classically trained oil painter reexamines art in the context of the blues,
"drawing like Ingres, if he listened to Skip James and drank Thurderbird,"
he explains in a press release. (See his take on Picasso's "Les Demoisells
D'Avignon" above.) His tour with local folk hero Paul Curreri has taken
him around the country. On Saturday, September 20, he makes his second stop
at the Gravity Lounge with singer/songwriter Jeffrey Foucault.
